หนังเพิ่งคว้ารางวัล Special Mention (รางวัลชมเชย) จากเทศกาลภาพยนตร์อาเซียนแห่งกรุงเทพฯ ครั้งล่าสุด ย้อนไปเมื่อปลายปีก่อน Birdshot ก็ได้รับรางวัล Best Asian Future Award จากเทศกาลภาพยนตร์โตเกียว 2016 (รางวัลเดียวกับทึ่ “มหาสมุทรและสุสาน” เคยได้รับเมื่อปี 2015)
ถึงจะเป็นหนังรางวัล/หนังเทศกาล แต่ Birdshot ก็ไม่ใช่หนังอาร์ตดูยาก ส่วนหนึ่ง เป็นเพราะเรดคือเด็กหนุ่มที่ชอบเสพหนังฮอลลีวูด เขาชอบงานของพี่น้องโคเอน ดังนั้น ผลงานของเขาจึงเข้มข้น เร้าใจ ดูสนุกมากๆ แต่ก็มาพร้อมกับอีกหนึ่งความมุ่งมั่นตั้งใจของเจ้าตั ว นั่นคือ ความต้องการจะผลิตหนังที่พูดถึงประเด็นจริงจังทางสัง คมไปในขณะเดียวกัน
