Lady of the Dynasty สาวน้อยหยางยู่หวนร่ายรำในงานไว้ทุกข์แห่งชาติ ลีลา และความงดงามของนางทำให้ฮ่องเต้ถังหมิงประทับใจเป็นอ ย่างมาก สนมเอกอู่ฮุ้ยรู้สึกถึงภัยคุกคามที่แอบแฝง จึงทูลความเท็จว่า หยางยู่หวนเป็นลูกสะใภ้ที่ตนหมายปองไว้ให้อ๋องโซ่ว ลูกชายของนางหยางยู่หวนกลายเป็นภรรยาของอ๋องโซ่ว ลูกสะใภ้ของฮ่องเต้ แม้ว่าหญิงสาวผู้อ่อนโยน เต็มไปด้วยอารมณ์ศิลปินผู้นี้ ไม่เคยสนใจในเรื่องการเมืองมาก่อน แต่แล้วนางก็ต้องถูกอ้อมล้อมด้วยเรื่องราวเหล่านี้ สนมอู่ฮุ่ยวางแผนใส่ร้ายองค์ชายว่าก่อกบฏ จนองค์ชายทั้งสามถูกลงโทษให้หลอมเป็นรูปปั้น แต่แล้วไม่นาน แผนของสนมอู่ฮุ่ยถูกเปิดโปง นางจึงฆ่าตัวตายในที่สุด อ๋องโซ่วไม่อาจยอมรับความรักที่บิดามีต่อหยางยู่หวน จึงวางยาให้ยู่หวนต้องแท้งลูก หยางยู่หวนที่ใจสลายถูกส่งไปชีพราหมณ์ในที่สุดฮ่องเต ้ถังหมิงถูกหยางยู่หวนปฏิเสธ ด้วยความโทสะจึงประกาศว่าบังคับให้หยางยู่หวนอภิเษกก ับตน แต่แล้วในคืนอภิเษก ฮ่องเต้ไม่ได้ฝืนใจยู่หวน ความสัมพันธ์ของทั้งสองพัฒนาเพิ่มขึ้นจากแรงกดดันทาง การเมืองและปัญหาความขัดแย้รอบตัว จนกระทั่งหยางยู่หวนตกหลุมรักฮ่องเต้ในที่สุดภายหลัง เกิดกบฏอันสื่อ อันเป็นศึกที่ทำให้สามีทั้งสองของสนมเอกหยางอ๋องโซ่ว และฮ่องเต้ถังหมิงกลับมาคืนดีกัน อ๋องโซ่วตายในสนมรบ ส่วนหยางยู่หวนผู้ไม่สนใจการเมืองกลายเป็นผู้มีอำนาจ สูงสุดในประเทศ ท่ามกลางสมรภูมการเมือง หยางยู่หวนปกป้องราชวังต้าถังและสามีของนาง ด้วยวิธีการเสียสละในแบบฉบับของนางเอง
