หลีเหลียนเจี๋ย สวมบทบาทเป็น "ซีหมิง" เด็กหนุ่มกำพร้าหลวงจีนวัดเส้าหลินเหนือ ที่ออกจากวัดมาเพื่อชำระแค้นที่พ่อและแม่ของเขาถูกฆ่ า หลังเฝ้าฝึกวิชาในวัดมาแรมปีจังหวะเวลาที่เหมาะสมก็ม าถึงเมื่อถึงงานวันเกิดของ "ไต้เท้าเหอซัว" ขุนนางผู้ทรงอำนาจและโฉดชั่ว ที่อยู่เบื้องหลังการตายของพ่อแม่ ซีหมิง อย่างไรก็ตามเมื่อถึงวันหลงมือ เขากลับพบคนอีกกลุ่มหนึ่งที่จ้องสังหาร เหอซัว อยู่ด้วยเช่นเดียวกัน แต่สุดท้ายการลอบสังหารกลับล้มเหลว ซีหมิง กับจอมยุทธ์หญิง "ซือหม่าเหยียน" ผู้นำกลุ่มลอบสังหารอีกกลุ่ม ได้หลบหนีไปด้วยกัน โดยมี "เฉาเหว่ย" ศิษย์ฆารวาสแห่งวัดเส้าหลินใต้ ตามมาคุ้มครอง ซือหม่าเหยียน ด้วย
