เรื่องราวของเฒ่าสครูจ ที่เป็นคนเห็นแก่ตัวอย่างร้ายกาจ จากปลายปากกาของ ชาล์ส ดิคเค็นส์ ออกมาโลดแล่นสู่จอภาพยนตร์ในระบบ 3 มิติ ให้ทันโลกยุคใหม่ ที่ก้าวล้ำไปด้วยเทคโนโลยี ด้วยฝีมือการกำกับของผู้กำกับมือทอง โรเบิร์ต เซเมคิส ผู้เคยมีผลงานโดดเด่นปรากฏมาให้เราเห็นแล้วมากมาย ไม่ว่าจะเป็น The Polar Express , Cast Away ฯลฯ และสำหรับเรื่อง A Christmas Carol เรื่องนี้นับเป็นผลงานแอนนิเมชั่นอีกเรื่องที่เขาภูม ิใจนำเสนอ โดยมีการวางตัวละครหลักทั้งหมดไว้ที่? “จิม แคร์รี่ย์” เพราะได้ข่าวมาว่า เซเมคิส เขากำหนดเลยว่าอยากได้ จิม แคร์รี่ย์ มาเล่นเท่านั้น ห้ามเป็นคนอื่น !! ซึ่งหากดูจากการแสดงเป็นตัวละครหลายตัว หลายบุคลิกในเรื่อง A Christmas Carol ก็คงต้องบอกว่า เซเมคิส ตัดสินใจไม่ผิดที่เลือก จิม มาแสดง เพราะเขาเป็นคนที่ถ่ายทอดอารมณ์คาแรกเตอร์แต่ละตัว ได้คนละขั้ว โดยไม่ทำให้คนดูต้องผิดหวัง ก็คงต้องบอกว่าการแสดงของเขาขั้นเทพจริงๆ และเมื่อหันกลับมาดูที่โครงเรื่อง? แอนิเมชั่นเรื่องนี้มีแนวทางในการสอนคนที่ชอบมองโลกใ นแง่ลบ ให้คิดมองมุมใหม่ มองในมุมโพสิทีฟมากขึ้น? เป็นการสอนให้ทุกคนมองโลกในแง่ดี และให้รู้จักใส่ใจกับโลกภายนอก และคนอื่นๆ ที่เดือดร้อนกว่าตัวเราบ้าง ไม่ใช่เอาตัวเราเองเป็นจักรวาลของโลกใบนี้
