เรื่องย่อ

เมื่อ 30 ปีก่อนปรากฏการณ์เกิดการสั่นไหวในอากาศจนทำลายทุกสิ่ งเป็นวงกว้างในอากาศ เรียกว่า อากาศสั่นไหว (Spacequake) สร้างความเสียหายครั้งใหญ่ให้แก่เหล่ามนุษย์ หลังจากนั้นก็เกิดอากาศสั่นไหวขนาดย่อมขึ้นหลายจุดทั ่วโลกจนกลายเป็นเรื่องปกติไป ผ่านมาจนถึงปัจจุบัน อิสึกะ ชิโด (ญี่ปุ่น: 五 河 士 道 Itsuka Shidō ) ที่ได้พบกับหญิงสาวที่ถูกเรียกว่า วิญญาณ (ญี่ปุ่น: 精 霊 Seirei) (ในอะนิเมะพากย์ไทยจะเรียกว่า ภูติ ) จากต่างมิติ เธอนั้นมีพลังมหาศาลพอจะทำลายทุกสิ่งได้ภายในพริบตา แล้วการปรากฏตัวของเธอจากต่างมิติ ยังเป็นต้นเหตุของการเกิดปรากฏการณ์ อากาศสั่นไหว ในพื้นที่นั้น วิธีที่จะยุติหายนะนอกจากจากกำจัดเธอโดยกลุ่มนักฆ่า วิญญาณ อย่างหน่วย AST (Anti-Spirit Team) และยังมีอีกหนี่งหนทาง คือ เจรจากับพวกเธอ ทำให้อิตสุกะที่ตัดสินใจเข้าร่วมกับองค์กรที่ต้องการ เจรจากับ วิญญาณ หน่วย ราทาทอส (Ratatoskr) แต่สิ่งที่อิสึกะต้องทำในสิ่งที่เขาไม่เคยทำมาก่อน คือ ต้องจีบ วิญญาณ ตนนั้น ด้วยการออกเดทกับเธอ
