ความหิวกระหายของชาวโลกต่อเกมส์กีฬาสุดขั้วและ.การแข ่งขันแบบเรียลลิตี้กลาย เป็นที่คลั่งไคล้ในจอทีวี บัดนี้ การแข่งขันที่ถือว่าสุดขั้วและ.หลุดโลกที่สุดถือกำเน ิดขึ้น และ.ผู้เข้าแข่งขันก็คือเบรรดานักโทษในข้อหาฆาตกรรม รถแข่งที่เต็มไปด้วยกลโกง , ฆาตกรที่ถูกขังกรง และ.เห ล่าเนวิเกเตอร์ ต้องมารวมตัวกันเพื่อสร้างสรรค์การแข่งขันที่เป็นดั่ งการเซ่นสังเวย กลายเป็นรายการทีวีที่มีเรตติ้งสูงยิ่งกว่าการแข่งขั นซูเปอร์โบวล์ กฎในการแข่งขันเดธเรซมีขึ้นอย่างง่ายๆเนั่นก็คือเถ้า ชนะในการแข่ง 5 ครั้ง คุณจะได้รับอิสรภาพ ถ้าแพ้ คุณจะกลายเป็นซากเละเทะกลางถนน ที่ถูกนำภาพไปเผยแพร่ทางอินเตอร์เน็ต

เจนเซ่น อาเมส.(เจสัน สเตแธม).แชมป์ ซิ่งรถ 3 สมัยที่โดนจับในข้อหาฆาตกรรมโหด อาเมสที่โดนบังคับให้ต้องใส่หน้ากากของนักแข่งลึกลับ ที่มีฉายาว่าแฟรง เก้นสไตน์ ซึ่งเป็นนักซิ่งขวัญใจคนดูรายการเดธเรซ โดนเฮนเนสซี่ย์ พัศดีสุดเหี้ยมของเทอร์มินัล ไอสแลนด์.(โจน อัลเลน).บังคับให้ลงแข่งขันในการซิ่งเสี่ยงตายครั้งน ี้ ไม่งั้นเขาจะไม่มีวันได้เห็นลูกสาวตัวน้อยของเขาอีก
