ต่อมาความสัมพันธ์ของทั้งสองค่อยๆพัฒนาขึ้น จนกระทั่งหยางยู่หวนตกหลุมรักฮ่องเต้ในที่สุด ภายหลังเกิดกบฏอันสื่อ ทำให้อ๋องโซ่ว
และฮ่องเต้ถังหมิงกลับมาคืนดีกัน อ๋องโซ่วตายในสนมรบ ส่วนหยางยู่หวนผู้ไม่สนใจการเมืองกลายเป็นผู้ปกป้องร าชวังต้าถังและสามีของนาง
