เรื่องราวของ เด็กชายแทรเวอร์ แม็คคินนีย์ ที่ทุกข์ใจกับการมีแม่ที่เสพติดแอลกอฮอล์ และหวาดกลัวพ่อที่ใช้ความรุนแรงจะกลับมา แทรเวอร์ได้พบกับครูสอนวิชาสังคมศาสตร์คนใหม่ซึ่งมอบ หมายการบ้าน "คิดหาแนวทางเปลี่ยนแปลงโลก แล้วนำไปปฏิบัติ" แทรเวอร์แปลงความหมายของการทำความดีที่มิใช่การตอบแท น แต่เป็นการทำดีต่อไป ซึ่งก็คือการทำความดีแก่ผู้อื่นต่อไปอีกสามคน แนวคิดเรื่องการพยายามทำความดีของแทรเวอร์นำมาซึ่งกา รเปลี่ยนแปลงครั้งใหญ่ ไม่เพียงต่อชีวิตของเขา แม่ของเขา และครูของเขาผู้มีบาดแผลทั้งร่างกายและจิตใจ แต่ยังมีผลต่อคนอื่นๆ ในวงกว้างที่ไม่รู้จักเขา อย่ามัวแต่รอให้ผู้อื่นเป็นฝ่ายเริ่มต้น ดูหนังเรื่องนี้จบ ลองถามตัวเองดูไหมว่า "วันนี้เราพร้อมที่จะ Pay It Forward แล้วหรือยัง?"
