221 ปีก่อนคริสตกาล จิ๋นซีฮ่องเต้ จักรพรรดิ์องค์แรกของจีน ได้เริ่มสร้างหลุมศพของตัวเองขึ้น ด้วยหยาดเหงื่อของแรงงานกว่า 700,000 ชีวิต สุสานสุดยิ่งใหญ่นี้เสร็จสมบูรณ์ในอีก 37 ปีต่อมา ว่ากันว่าเพื่อเก็บความลับเรื่องสุสาน แรงงานทั้งหมดถูกฝังทั้งเป็น พร้อมกับของจักรพรรดิ์ ไม่มีใครรอดชีวิตแม้แต่คนเดียว... สองพันปีต่อมา บรรดานักประวัติศาสตร์ นักขุดค้นสุสาน และนักผจญภัยจำนวนมาก เดินทางมาที่สุสานเพื่อค้นหาหลุมศพจิ๋นซี และของมีค่าที่ฝังอยู่ แต่ไม่มีใครสักคนที่สามารถหาทางเข้าสู่สุสานได้ ทรัพย์สินเลอค่า รวมทั้งยาวิเศษขององค์จักรพรรดิ์ จึงยังคงอยู่ จนกระทั่ง... แจ๊ค (เฉินหลง) คือนักโบราณคดีผู้กล้าหาญ และ วิลเลี่ยม (โทนี่ เหลียงเจียฮุย) คือนักวิทยาศาสตร์สุดทะเยอทะยาน พวกเขาออกผจญภัยร่วมกัน โดยไม่นึกฝันว่า การเดินทางครั้งนี้ จะนำไปสู่การค้นพบทางประวัติศาสตร์อันยิ่งใหญ่ การผจญภัยเริ่มขึ้นที่เมืองดาศาร์ ประเทศอินเดีย ที่นั่น ทั้งคู่ไปสะดุดเอาดาบโบราณแห่งราชวงศ์ฉิน และพลอยวิเศษ ที่สามารถต้านแรงโน้มถ่วงโลกได้ ของเหล่านี้ไม่เพียงนำทั้งคู่สู่ทางเข้าสุสาน แต่ยัง ทำให้แจ๊คทะลุมิติเวลา ไปพบตนเองในชาติที่แล้วด้วย แจ๊คได้เห็นตนเองเป็น เหม็งยี่ แม่ทัพผู้กล้าแห่งราชวงศ์ฉิน เหม็งยี่ตกหลุมรัก อ๊ก ซู (คิมฮีซอน) มเหสีขององค์จักพรรดิ์ ขณะต้องทำสงครามกับกบฎ ซึ่งโอกาสชนะลางเลือน เหม็งยี่ยังต้องเลือกระหว่างความรักกับความภักดีด้วย เมื่อกลับมายังโลกปัจจุบัน ความลับของจักรพรรดิ์ผู้ยิ่งใหญ่กำลังจะถูกเปิดเผย หลังจากผ่านป้อมปราการ ที่เต็มไปด้วยกับดักสุดอันตราย สองนักผจญภัยก็เข้าไปยังพระราชวังสวรรค์ได้สำเร็จ และที่นั่น... แจ๊คก็ได้เผชิญหน้ากับอดีตชาติของตนเอง
