ภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้สร้างจากนิยายพื้นบ้านของเกาหลี เรื่องราวมีอยู่ว่า ในสมัยราชวงศ์ชิง เข้าโจมตีโชซอน ก็มีการกวาดต้อนทาสไปใช้เป็นโล่มนุษย์ และในเหตุการณ์นั้นเอง คิม อินฮอง (ยู ซึงโฮ) ก็ได้เข้าช่วยเหลือ กยอน (ซิ่วหมิน EXO) และทั้ง 2 ก็ได้พบกับ โบวอน ทั้ง 3 รอดพ้นจากสงครามครั้งนั้นมาได้ด้วยการแกล้งตาย หลังจากนั้นก็รวมกลุ่มกันปลอมตัวหลอกต้มคนรวยได้เงิน เป็นกอบเป็นกำ จนกระทั่งเกิดเหตุการณ์บางอย่างขึ้น ติดตามกันต่อว่าเรื่องราวบทสรุปจะเป็นเช่นไร
