เรื่องราวว่าด้วยมิตรภาพระหว่างหญิงสูงวัยชาวยิวนามว ่า เดซี่ เวอร์แธน ผู้ที่แสนจะจู้จี้จุกจิก หัวดื้อไม่ยอมใคร กับ โฮค โคลเบิร์น คนขับรถผิวดำ ที่ลูกชายของคุณนายเดซี่จ้างมาเพื่อขับรถและดูแลเธอ หลังจากเธอไปขับรถชนสวนเข้าโครมใหญ่จนคนตกใจกันทั้งห มู่บ้าน
ถือเป็นหนังชีวิตชั้นดีอีกเรื่องครับ กำกับโดย Bruce Beresford ( Breaker Morant และ Tender Mercies) คนทำหนังมือเก๋าอีกคนที่เชี่ยวพอสมควรสำหรับหนังชีวิ ต จังหวะการนำเสนอของเขาจะไม่เร่งเร้า แต่จะให้ดาราแสดงกันไป สร้างตัวตนสร้างบุคลิกถ่ายทอดผ่านแผ่นฟิล์มไป พอรู้ตัวอีกที คนดูอย่างเราๆ ก็จะเกิดความผูกพันกับพวกเขาไปไม่มากก็น้อย นี่แหละครับลีลาการทำหนังสไตล์ Beresford (แต่ก็ไม่ใช่ทุกเรื่องที่เขาจะทำให้ตามนี้นะครับ นี่พูดถึงเฉพาะลีลาหนังที่เขาสามารถทำได้ในระดับท็อป ฟอร์ม)
