The mustang เป็นเรื่องราวของการฝึกม้า Mustang ที่รัฐบาลสหรัฐจับมาให้นักโทษเป็นผู้ฝึกม้า ในโครงการฟื้นฟูนักโทษ
และโรมันนักโทษที่ต้องจำคุกเพราะทำร้ายภรรยาตนเอง เขาติดคุกอยู่ในห้องขังเดี่ยวหลายปี
และมีโอกาสที่จะได้ออกไปใช้ชีวิตข้างนอกหลายครั้งแต่ เขาเลือกที่จะปฏิเสธ จนในวันหนึ่งจิตแพทย์ได้ให้เขาลงโปรแกรมทำความสะอาด
โดยที่เขามีหน้าที่เก็บขี้ม้า และตอนนั้นเองที่โรมันได้พบกับม้า Mustang จอมพยศตัวหนึ่ง และเขาได้ตั้งชื่อมันว่า มาร์ควิค ในเวลาต่อมา
ในขณะที่โรมันเข้าโปรแกรมทำความสะอาดอยู่นั้น ไมลส์ ผู้เป็นผู้คุมการฝึกม้าสังเกตเห็นความสนใจในม้าของเข า
จึงทำให้โรมันได้เข้าร่วมโปรแกรมฝึกม้า!!!
