เรื่องย่อ

พบกับการประชันบทบาทสุดเข้มข้นของสองนักแสดงชื่อดัง นำโดย มาร์ค วอห์ลเบิร์ก ที่รั้งตำแหน่งนักแสดงนำและผู้อำนวยการสร้าง และ รัสเซล โครว์ ร่วมด้วยสุดยอดนักแสดงแถวหน้าของฮอลลีวูดอย่าง แคทเธอรีน ซีต้า-โจนส์, แบร์รี่ เป็ปเปอร์, นาตาลี มาร์ติเนซ จากผลงานการกำกับของอัลเลน ฮิวจ์

โดยเรื่องนี้เป็นเรื่องเกี่ยวกับอดีตนายตำรวจชื่อ บิลลี แท็กการ์ท (มาร์ค วอห์ลเบิร์ก) ซึ่งถูกหักหลังจนต้องการแก้แค้น หลังจากที่ถูกนายกเทศมนตรี (รัสเซล โครว์) ผู้ทรงอิทธิพลสูงสุดในเมือง หักหลังจัดฉากให้สะกดรอยตามเพื่อหาหลักฐานว่าภรรยาขอ งเขากำลังแอบคบชู้อยู่ แต่เขากลับต้องเข้าไปพัวพันกับเรื่องที่ซับซ้อนเกินก ว่าที่คาดคิดเอาไว้ ซึ่งความโหดร้ายที่เขาต้องพบเจอนั่นเอง ที่ทำให้เขานึกเคียดแค้นชิงชังจนตั้งมั่นว่าจะทำให้น ายกเทศมนตรีต้องเผชิญ กับฝันร้ายแบบเดียวกันให้ได้
