Chain Reaction เร็วพลิกนรก ผลงานภาพยนตร์ Action Thriller ของผู้กำกับ Andrew Davies (แอนดรูว์ เดวีส) ที่ประสบความสำเร็จอย่างสูงมาแล้วกับภาพยนตร์ The Fugitive ขึ้นทำเนียบจับตาย ในปี 1993 และต่อมายังภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้ Chain Reaction ที่ออกฉายในปี 1996

Chain Reaction นอกจากจะได้ผู้กำกับมือดีอย่าง Andrew Davies แล้ว ยังได้ดารานำที่กำลังโด่งดั่งสุด ๆ และเนื้อหอมสุด ๆ ณ ช่วงเวลานั้นอย่าง Keanu Reeves (คีอานู รีฟ) จาก Speed หนัง Action เรื่องดังในปี 1994 มาแสดงนำในภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้ นอกจาก คีอานู รีฟ Chain Reaction ยังได้ Morgan Freeman (มอร์แกน ฟรีแมน) ดาราสุดเก๋ามากฝีมือของวงการมาร่วมประชันบทบาทสุดเข้ มข้นจึงทำให้ Chain Reaction เป็นอีกหนึ่งภาพยนตร์ในยุค 90s. ที่คอหนังน่าสะสมไว้ครับ

เอ็ดดี้ คาซาลิวิซ (Keanu Reeves) นักศึกษาวิชาจักรกล เค้าเป็นสมาชิกคนสำคัญของทีมวิจัยในการทดลองนำพลังงา นน้ำมาใช้ทดแทนพลังงาน อื่น ๆ ที่มีในโลกนี้ที่เริ่มเหลือน้อยลง โดยมี ดร. อลิสแตร์ (Nicholas Rudall) และ ดร. ลูเช็ง (Tzi Ma) 2 วิทยาศาสตร์คนสำคัญเป็นหัวหน้าเจ้าของงานวิจัยนี้ และเพราะการคำนวนสูตรความถี่ของเอ็ดดี้ทำให้การทดลอง พลังงานน้ำประสบความ สำเร็จ

ในค่ำคืนที่ทีมวิจัยโครงการนี้กำลังฉลองความสำเร็จอย ่างชื่นมื่น โดยทุกคนมิอาจรู้ถึงอันตรายบางอย่างที่กำลังจะเกิดขึ ้น หลังจากเอ็ดดี้กลับจากการไปส่ง ดร. ลิลลี่ ซินแคลร์ (Rachel Weisz) นักฟิสิกส์สาวประจำโครงการทดลองที่ห้องพักของเธอเพรา ะเธอเมาหนัก เอ็ดดี้ได้พบว่าที่ห้องทดลองของโครการถูกวางเพลิง และคนร้ายซึ่งไม่ทราบว่าเป็นใครมาจากไหน ได้ทำการฆาตกรรมดร. อลิสแตร์ รวมถึงการหายตัวไปอย่างไร้ร่องลอยของ ดร. ลูเช็ง และที่เลวร้ายกว่านั้นคือห้องทดลองโครงการนี้เกิดระเ บิดสร้างความเสีย หายอย่างมากมาย แต่ยังดีที่เอ็ดดี้หนีรอดออกมาได้อย่างหวุดหวิด

เรื่องราวการระเบิดของห้องทดลองโครงการพลังงานน้ำ กลายเป็นเรื่องราวที่อยู่ภายใต้การสืบสวนของตำรวจ FBI อย่าง ลีออนฟอร์ด (Fred Ward) และ ดอยส์ (Kevin Dunn) ซึ่งจากหลักฐานบางอย่างที่ดูเหมือนการสร้างขึ้นทำให้ FBI เกิดสงสัยในตัวของ เอ็ดดี้และ ดร. ลิลลี่ ว่าอาจมีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องรู้เห็นกับคดีนี้ จึงทำให้ เอ็ดดี้และ ดร. ลิลลี่ ซึ่งความจริงถูกคนร้ายตัวจริงในเรื่องนี้สร้างหลักฐา นใส่ความพวกเค้า ทำให้ทั้งคู่ไม่มีทางเลือกต้องทำการหลบหนีการจับกุมข อง FBI และระหว่างนั้นก็ต้องสืบหาความจริงในเรื่องที่เกิดขึ ้น โดยที่พึ่งเดียวของเอ็ดดี้ก็คือ พอล ซานอนร์ (Morgan Freeman) ที่ปรึกษาและหุ้นส่วนของ ดร. อลิสแตร์ คนเดียวเท่านั้นที่เค้าไว้ใจ แต่สิ่งที่เอ็ดดี้คิดอาจไม่ได้เป็นอย่างนั้น พอล ซานอนร์ มีความลับบางอย่างซ่อนอยู่ และสิ่งที่เอ็ดี้คิดคนที่เค้าไว้ใจว่าจะยืนอยู่และให ้ความช่วยเหลือใน สถานการณ์สุดเลวร้ายครั้งนี้อาจไม่เป็นเช่นนั้น !!!
