ในการสร้างมนุษย์ครึ่งเครื่องจักรคนแรกขึ้นมา เพื่อปฏิบัติภารกิจต่อสู้กับอาชญากรทั้งหลายในนาม โรโบคอป หลังจากนั้น อเล็กซ์ฟื้นขึ้นมาในโรงพยาบาล
ด้วยสภาพร่างกายที่เป็นเครื่องจักรเกือบทั้งหมด และแทบไม่มีความเป็นมนุษย์หลงเหลืออยู่เลย แต่เขาก็ยังคงความเป็นตำรวจไว้อย่างเต็มเปี่ยม
การถูกเปลี่ยนแปลงในครั้งนี้ ทำให้อเล็กซ์ต้องแบกรับความรับผิดชอบที่ยิ่งใหญ่ขึ้น อย่างที่เขาไม่เคยคาดฝันมาก่อนเลยทีเดียว
เขาได้กลับสู่ภารกิจการปราบปรามผู้ร้ายอีกครั้ง พร้อมด้วยกลไกและอาวุธไฮเทคครบครัน แต่นั่นก็ยิ่งทำให้เขาต้องพบกับปัญหาใหม่
