จากแอนิเมชั่นเรื่องดังของสตูดิโอ จิบลิ มาเป็นภาพยนตร์ฉบับคนแสดง ในเรื่องราวของสาวน้อยแม่มด "กิกิ" ที่เมื่อถึงวัยอันควร เธอต้องออกเดินทางค้นหาตัวเอง ในเมืองที่ไม่มีแม่มดอื่นมาอยู่ ในที่สุด กิกิได้พบเมืองริมทะเลตามที่เธอฝันไว้ ซึ่งเธอจำเป็นต้องปรับตัวและหาวิธีจะอยู่ในเมืองใหญ่ เมืองนี้ให้ได้ เธอจริงใช้ความสามารถในการขี่ไม้กวาดให้เป็นประโยชน์ คอยรับจ้างส่งของให้กับคนในเมืองเพื่อเป็นการหารายได ้ แต่กิกิไม่รู้เลยว่าการส่งของนี้ จะเป็นการเชื่อมหัวใจของคนในเมืองไว้ด้วยกัน
