Reds (1981) ภาพยนตร์แนวมหากาพย์ (Epic) ผลางานการสร้าง-กำกับ-แสดงนำโดย Warren Beatty สร้างจากเรื่องราวชีวิตจริงของ John Reed นักหนังสือพิมพ์ชาวอเมริกันที่มีชีวิตในช่วงปี 1887-1920 หลังจากเริ่มมีความสนใจและมีส่วนร่วมเกี่ยวกับเรื่อง แรงงานและการเมืองของ สหรัฐอเมริกา จนทำให้เขาได้กลายเป็นนักสังคมนิยม ได้เดินทางไปรัสเซียในช่วงที่เกิดการปฏิวัติเปลี่ยนแ ปลงการปกครอง นำไปสู่การก่อตั้งสหภาพโซเวียตเมื่อปี 1917 สิ่งที่เขาได้พบเห็นที่นั่นได้สร้างแรงบันดาลใจให้เข าอยากกลับมาผลักดัน ประเทศบ้านเกิดของตัวเองสู่การเปลี่ยนแปลงในแนวทางเช ่นนั้นบ้าง.....

Reds ได้รับการเสนอชื่อเข้าชิงออสก้าร์ 12 รางวัลด้วยกัน รวมทั้งรางวัลใหญ่ทั้งหมด แต่ได้กลับมา 3 รางวัลคือ ผู้กำกับยอดเยี่ยม, ดาราสบทบหญิงยอดเยี่ยม (Maureen Stapleton) และ ถ่ายภาพยอดเยี่ยม
