เนื้อเรื่องเกิดขึ้นในปี 1880 เล่าถึงโสเภณีรายหนึ่งที่ถูกชายสองคนทำร้ายร่างกายอย ่างโหดร้ายจนใบหน้าเสียโฉม เธอรู้สึกแค้นใจจับใจจึงประกาศค่าหัวของชายหนุ่มทั้ง สองคนเป็นเงินสูงถึง 1000 เหรียญ ทำให้วิลเลี่ยม วิล มันนี่(คลินต์ อีสต์วูด)คาวบอยสูงอายุที่วางมือจากการดวลปืนมาเป็นเ วลานานกว่า 10 ปี ได้รับข่าวคราวเรื่องค่าหัวจากคาวบอยหนุ่มคนหนึ่ง เขาอยากได้เงินค่าหัวมาเลื้ยงดูและสร้างฐานะให้ลูกๆแ ละตัวเขา วิลร่วมมือกับเน็ท(มอร์แกน ฟรีแมน)อดีตคู่หูของเค้าและคาวบอยหนุ่มที่มาแจ้งข่าว เพื่อเงินรางวัลทั้งสามต้องร่วมกันแต่มันกลับไม่ง่าย ที่คิด เนื่องจาก ลิตเติ้ลบิล ดาเก็ท(จีน แฮกแมน)ผู้มีอำนาจในเมืองบิ๊กวิสกี้ออกคำสั่งห้ามประ ชาชนพกปืน จึงเป็นการยากที่ทั้งสามจะกำจัดชายหนุ่มสองคนนั้นได้ อีกทั้งวิลนั้นห่างจากการจับปืนมาเป็นเวลานาน เขาไม่ใช่คาวบอยที่น่ากลัวที่สุดอย่างเมื่อ 10ปีก่อนอีกแล้ว... นั่นหมายถึงการล่าค่าหัวครั้งนี้อาจแลกมาด้วยชีวิต.. .
