เรื่องย่อ...Ode to My Father ท่ามกลางการหลบหนีอันวุ่นวายของผู้ลี้ภัยในสงครามเกา หลีในเดือนธันวาคม ปี 1950 โชคชะตาของเด็กหนุ่มที่ชื่อว่า ด๊อกซู (เจิง มิน ฮวาง) ก็เปลี่ยนไปในชั่วพริบตาเมื่อเขาพลัดหลงกับ มักซูน น้องสาว พ่อของเขาจึงอยู่ตามหาน้องสาวและบอกให้เขาพาแม่ และพี่น้องหนีไปที่ปูซานก่อน ด๊อกซูอุทิศตนเองเพื่อสมาชิกในครอบครัวที่เหลืออยู่โ ดยรับทำงานทุกอย่างที่สามารถหาเลี้ยงครอบครัวในฐานะห ัวหน้าครอบครัวแทนพ่อของเขา โดยการอุทิศตนของเขานำพาให้เขาถึงขั้นไปทำงานเสี่ยงต ายในเหมืองแร่ที่เยอรมันและที่นั่นก็ทำให้เขาได้พบกั บ ยองจา (ยุนจิน คิม) ผู้เป็นรักครั้งแรกของเขา เขาและเธอกลับไปเริ่มต้นชีวิตครอบครัวที่ปูซาน และมีบุตรด้วยกัน 2 คน หลังจากนั้น ด๊อกซู และ ดัลกูก็ตัดสินใจออกจากเกาหลีอีกครั้งในปี 1970 เพื่อหาโอกาสใหม่ๆที่ดีกว่าเดิม ซึ่งในครั้งนี้พวกเขาเดินทางสู่เวียดนามซึ่งอยู่ในภา วะสงครามอันยืดเยื้อจนกระทั่งปัจจุบันที่เขาใช้ชีวิต อยู่ท่ามกลางญาติพี่น้องที่มีทุกวันนี้ได้เพราะเขา นี่คือภาพยนตร์ที่สร้างเพื่ออุทิศให้กับความหมายของค ำว่า ”พ่อ” !!!
