เรื่องราวเกิดขึ้นในเมืองคาโมกาวะ เคียวโนะ มาโดกะ อายุ 17 ปี เด็กสาวผู้มีความภาคภูมิใจในฐานะสมาชิกคนเดียวของชมร มชุดกีฬาโรงเรียนม.ปลายคาโมกาวะ มีนิสัยรักบ้านเกิดและชอบช่วยเหลือคนอื่นที่เดือดร้อ น วันหนึ่งชีวิตของเธอกลับตาลปัตรเมื่อได้รับคำขอร้องท ี่แปลกประหลาดจากเด็กสาวลึกลับชื่อ ลัน ให้ขับหุ่นยนต์ที่เรียกว่า VOX ต่อสู้กับผู้รุกรานจากนอกโลก ดังนั้นเพื่อปกป้องเมืองคาโมกาวะและผู้คนที่ตนรัก มาโดกะตัดสินใจขับหุ่นยนต์เข้าสู้กับศัตรูพร้อมกับลั น และเด็กสาวชื่อ มุกินามิ
