เรื่องย่อ
ฮิมุระ เคนชิน อดีตมือสังหารของคณะปฏิวัติเจ้าของฉายา "มือพิฆาตบัตโตไซ" ได้วางดาบ กลายเป็นซามูไรพเนจรธรรมดาๆ จวบจนได้มาพบกับครูฝึกดาบสาวของสำนักคามิยะคัตชินริว คามิยะ คาโอรุ ผู้ซึ่งทำให้เขารู้สึกสบายใจและหยุดการเดินทางที่ไร้ จุดหมายลงได้ หลังจากการพำนักอยู่กับคาโอรุ เคนชินต้องเข้าไปมีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องเหตุการณ์มากมายและ ได้พบกับ ซางาระ ซาโนสุเกะ, เมียวยิน ยาฮิโกะ, ทากานิ เมกุมิ รวมถึงชิโนโมริ อาโอชิ และกลุ่มโอนิวาบัง
