Shanghai Knights หลังการผจญภัยกับ รอย โอแบนน่อน (โอเวน วิลสัน) สิ้นสุดลง จง หวัง (แจ็คกี้ ชาน) ก็ปักหลักสร้างชีวิตอันมีเกียรติ ด้วยการเป็นนายอำเภอแห่งคาร์สันซิตี้ จนกระทั่งได้รับข่าวสารจาก หลิน (ฟานน์ หว่อง) น้องสาวของหวัง เกี่ยวกับการตายของพ่อในเซี่ยงไฮ้ กบฎชาวจีนที่สังหารพ่อของหวัง หลบหนีไปยังประเทศอังกฤษ เขาก็ประกาศกร้าวว่า จะลากตัวฆาตกรมาลงโทษอย่างสาสมให้จงได้ หวังจำเป็นต้องใช้เงินที่รอยนำไป ‘ลงทุนให้’ ในนิวยอร์ค เขาจึงออกตามรอย อดีตคู่หูคนนี้ไปจนถึงริตซ์โฮเต็ล แต่กลับพบว่า คู่หูตัวแสบใช้ชีวิตอย่างหรูเริ่ด ด้วยเงินของเขาจนเกลี้ยงกระเป๋าเสียแล้วฝ่ายรอยนั้น หลังแยกจากหวังมาหลายเดือน ก็จัดแจงสร้างตำนานการผจญภัยของตัวเอง ขึ้นใหม่อย่างสุดเว่อใส่หนังสือที่เขาตั้งชื่อว่า “รอย โอแบนน่อน กับไอ้หนุ่มเซี่ยงไฮ้” แม้เงินจะละลายหายไปแล้ว แต่มิตรภาพยังคงอยู่ รอยจึงตัดสินใจร่วมกับหวัง ในการเดินทางครั้งใหม่ เพื่อทวงถาม
