ภาพยนตร์ที่ทุกคนยอมรับว่าเป็น "ภาพยนตร์รักที่ดีที่สุด" จากผลงานการกำกับของ ปีเตอร์ ซาน แสดงนำโดยหลี่หมิง กับ จางม่านอวี้ ภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้ได้รับรางวัลตุ๊กตาทองฮ่องกงครั้งท ี่ 16 ถึง 9 รางวัล หนังเรื่องนี้เปิดฉากวันที่ 1 มีนาคม 1986 "หลี่เสี่ยวจิน" (หลี่หมิง) กับ "หลี่เฉียว" (จางม่านอวี้) หวังที่จะมาขุดทองที่ฮ่องกง ทั้งสองต่างมาจากจีนแผ่นดินใหญ่ซึ่งในช่วงนั้นข้าวยา กหมากแพง หลีเสี่ยวจิน มาฮ่องกงเพื่อเก็บหอมรอมริบ เพื่อจะได้พาแฟน "เสี่ยวถิง" ที่เมืองจีนมาแต่งงานด้วยที่ฮ่องกง โชคชะตากลับเล่นตลกเมื่อผู้ชายคนนี้ได้ไปพบกับหลี่เฉ ียว ที่ร้านแมคโดนัลด์ ผู้หญิงคนนี้ทำให้ชีวิตของผู้ชายคนนี้เปลี่ยนไป หลี่เสี่ยวจินก็สนิทกับหลี่เฉียว ไม่รู้เพราะว่าความเหงาหรือเพราะอะไร ทั้งๆ ที่หลี่เสี่ยวจินโดนหลี่เฉียวหลอกแต่ก็ยอมให้หลอก จนสุดท้ายพระเอกตั้งตัวได้พาแฟนเก่ามาแต่งงานด้วยที่ ฮ่องกง หลี่เฉียวพบรักใหม่ แต่ทั้งสองยังมีเยื่อใย สุดท้ายความรักของทั้งสองจะสมหวังหรือไม่ต้องติดตาม
