เรื่องย่อ
กระแสน้ำฝนที่ไหลเชี่ยวและหนักจนน้ำท่วมเมืองเพราะกา รระบายน้ำจากเขื่อน ทำให้นายอำเภอท้องถิ่น(Randy Quaid) ต้องสั่งอพยพผู้คนที่อาศัยอยู่ในเมืองฮันติ้งเบิร์ก ในขณะเวลาหนึ่งต้องรีบขนเงินออกจากธนาคารเพื่อหลีกเล ี่ยงความเสียหาย จึงเป็นหน้าที่ของทอม(Christian Slater) และชาร์ลีลุงของเขา (Edward Asner) ที่ต้องรีบส่งเงินก่อนน้ำท่วมครั้งใหญ่ แต่ด้วยสถานการณ์ตึงเครียดทำให้รถเกิดเสียกลางทาง และเป็นเป้าหมายจากกลุ่มผู้ช่วยเหลือที่มีที่ท่าหวัง ดีกลายเป็นว่าหวังมากกว่าน้ำใจแต่เป็นเงินสดในกระเป๋ า ทำให้พวกเขาต้องหนีการไล่ล่าท่ามกลางพายุฝนและน้ำที่ ค่อยๆเพิ่มขึ้นเรื่อย ด้วยสภาพที่เป็นอยู่ทำให้ต้องขอร้องความช่วยเหลือจาก เหล่าตำรวจในการปกป้องเงินจำนวนนี้ให้ปลอดภัย ทว่ามิตรคือศัตรูทำให้ไม่มีทางเลือกนอกจากต้องสู้กับ เหล่าโจรที่ต้องการเงินเพียงอย่างเดียวกับเหล่าตำรวจ ที่ต้องการปิดปากเรื่องเงิน จนเป็นเรื่องการไล่ล่าสุดระห่ำกลางสายน้ำที่จะกระแทก ทุกลมหายใจ
