เนื้อเรื่องย่อ

ในยุคที่คนรวย มีอำนาจเงินสามารถซื้อเวลาสำหรับอายุขัยของตนเองจนเป ็นอมตะได้
และคนจน ก็สามารถเสนอขายเวลาของตนเองเพื่อแลกกับเงินได้

เมื่อในอนาคตอีกไม่นานข้างหน้า ยีนส์อายุขัยของมนุษย์จะถูกจำกัดเวลา เพื่อป้องกันปัญหาประชากรล้นโลก
เวลาชีวิตของทุกคนจะถูกหยุดอยู่ที่ 25 ปี และหลังจากนั้นพวกเขาต้องทำงาน เพื่อหาเงินมาซื้ออายุขัยของตนเองเพิ่มขึ้น
