เซน ซิมินสกี้ (ชาร์ลี ซีน) นักวิทยาศาสตร์ด้านเทคโนโลยีพลังงานที่บังเอิญได้รับ สัญญาณแปลกๆ จากเครื่องรับส่งพลังงาน แต่เมื่อเขารายงานเรื่องนี้ให้กับหัวหน้าได้รับทราบเ ขากลับโดนไล่ออก เซน เป็นคนที่เชื่อในเรื่องมนุษย์ต่างดาวเป็นทุนเดิมอยู่ แล้ว เมื่อเกิดเรื่องขึ้นเขาจึงลงมือสืบสวนหาความจริงด้วย ตัวเอง เขาแกะรอยคลื่นสัญญาณแปลกนี้ไปจนถึงหมู่บ้านห่งหนึ่ง ในเม็กซิโก หลังจากที่ออกสืบสวนหาความจริงแล้ว เซนก็ได้พบกับต้นกำเนิดของสัญญาณดังกล่าว ซึ่งสิ่งที่เขได้ค้นพบก็คือมันไม่ได้มาจากสิ่งที่มนุ ษยืประดิษฐ์ขึ้น
