Upgrade เป็นผลงานกำกับเรื่องที่สองของลีห์ แวนเนลล์ นักทำหนังชาวออสเตรเลีย ผู้ร่วมเขียนบท Saw และ Insidious ซึ่งได้ไปฉายเปิดตัวในเทศกาลหนัง SXSW Film Festival ของปีนี้ และคว้ารางวัลใหญ่สุดของงานคือรางวัลขวัญใจผู้ชมมาได ้ครับ หนังมีกลิ่นอายของ Death Wish แต่อัพเกรดเหมือนชื่อเรื่องด้วยความล้ำของฉากต่อสู้ท ี่ชวนให้นึกถึง The Matrix และกลายเป็นตัวละครเหนือมนุษย์แบบซูเปอร์ฮีโร่ครับ

หนังมีโลแกน มาร์แชล-กรีน (Prometheus และ Spider-Man: Homecoming) นักแสดงหนุ่มที่หลายคนจำเขาสลับกับทอม ฮาร์ดี้ รับบทเป็นชายหนุ่มที่ถูกปล้นและทำร้ายจนเป็นอัมพาต เขาได้รับโอกาสให้กลับมาเคลื่อนไหวได้อีกครั้งด้วยกา รทดลองฝังชิปอัจฉริยะที่กระดูกสันหลัง ซึ่งมันไม่เพียงทำให้เขาแคล่วคล่องว่องไวได้เท่านั้น แต่ยังทำให้เขามีทักษะการต่อสู้ได้เหมือนนินจา เขาจึงใช้โอกาสนี้ออกตามล้างแค้นคนที่ทำร้ายเขาและฆ่ าภรรยาของเขา
