Planet Explorers เป็นเกมผจญภัยแบบ Open World ซึ่งผู้เล่นมีอิสระในการผจญภัยไปในโลก Planet Explorers โดยผู้เล่นสามารถสร้างสิ่งต่างๆจากสิ่งต่างๆภายในเกม ได้ ไม่ว่าจะเป็น การสร้างบ้าน สร้างเมือง สร้างฟาร์ม หรือการออกผจญภัย เพื่อล่าสัตว์ หาอาหาร หรือค้นหาส่วนประกอบต่างๆเพื่อนำมาพัฒนาเป็น ชุดเกราะ อาวุธ หรือของใช้ต่างๆ เพื่อนำไปต่อกรกับเหล่า Alien ที่มารุกรานดินแดนแห่งนี้ สำหรับการผจญภัยในโลกแห่งนี้ มีภูมิประเทศหลายแบบที่แตกต่างกันออกไป ไม่ว่าจะเป็นผืนป่า ผืนหญ้า ภูเขา ท้องทะเล ทะเลทราย ซึ่งสามารถผจญภัยไปได้ทุกที่ นอกจากนี้ผู้เล่นยังสามารถสร้างยานพาหนะ หรือป้อมปราการเพื่อป้องกันเหล่าศัตรูได้ ด้วยการรวบรวมส่วนประกอบต่างๆ นอกจากนี้ยังสามารถชวนเพื่อนมาร่วมผจญภัยไปพร้อมกันแ บบ Coop หรือประลองฝีมือกันในแบบ Versus ก็ได้เช่นกัน

In Planet Explorers, it is the year 2287, one of the first colony ships sent out by Earth arrives at the planet Maria, in the Epsilon Indi Star System. During its landing sequence, something appears in front of the massive ship that causes it to lose control and crash into the planet. Some of the colonists survive in lifeboats, but what they find is an unforgiving land filled with creatures ready to outlast the visitors from Earth. Now the survivors must explorer, gather, build, create, fight, and ultimately, build a new home.
