Steve Rogers เด็กชายขี้โรคที่เติบโตขึ้นมาในช่วงสภาวะเศรษฐกิจตกต ่ำ ช่วงสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 ด้วยความที่มีฐานะยากจน และร่างกายที่อ่อนแอ ทำให้เขาต้องต่อสู้ชีวิตอย่างยากลำบาก และเมื่อสงครามโลกขยายขอบเขตมาถึงอเมริกาเขาสมัครเข้ าเป็นทหาร เพื่อรับใช้ชาติ แต่เนื่องด้วยสภาพร่างกายที่อ่อนแอ เขาถูกปฏิเสฐจากทางกองทัพ แต่ความมุ่งมั่นของโรเจอร์ ไปเข้าตานายพลเชสเตอร์ ฟิลิป นายพลเชสเตอร์ ชวนโรเจอร์มาเข้าร่วมโครงการลับ “operation rebirth” โปรเจคที่ทดลองเกี่ยวกับการสร้างสุดยอดทหารด้วย super soldier serum ทำให้โรเจอร์กลายเป็นสุดยอดทหาร ที่มีใจรักชาติเต็มเปี่ยม และถูกส่งไปร่วมรบที่สมรภูมิที่ยุโรป ต่อต้านกองทัพของฮิตเลอร์ เขาถูกเด็กวัยรุ่นคนหนึ่งรู้ถึงตัวตนที่แท้จริง เด็กคนนั้น คือ Bucky Barnes ซึ่งภายหลังโรเจอร์ได้รับเขาเป็นคู่หู ระหว่าง การรบกับ Baron Heinrich Zemo ทำให้ Bucky หายสาบสูญ ส่วนตัวโรเจอร์ตกลงในมหาสมุทร Arctic ทำให้ร่างกายของเขาถูกแช่แข็งมาตลอดห้าสิบปี ก่อนที่จะถูกต้นพบโดยเหล่า Avengers ตื่นขึ้นสู่ยุคปัจจุบัน !!!
