เป็นการ์ตูนดังเรื่องหนึ่งในนิตยสารจัมพ์ที่นักอ่านช าวไทยรู้จักกันดี เพราะมีตีพิมพ์ให้อ่านกันฉบับภาษาไทยและเคยลงในนิตยส ารการ์ตูน C-Kids ในอดีต ซึ่งเรื่องนี้อวสานไปเมื่อช่วงปี 1999 ปัจจุบันก็ผ่านไปประมาณ 15 ปีแล้ว แต่เรื่องนี้ก็ยังไม่หายไปไหน ยังคงมีวาดตอนพิเศษออกมาเรื่อยๆ ควบคู่ไปกับเรื่อง Izuna ที่เป็นการ์ตูนแนวปราบผีจากผู้วาดคนเดียวกัน โดยนอกจากเวอร์ชั่นหนังสือการ์ตูนและทีวีอนิเมะแล้วก ็ยังมีเวอร์ชั่นภาพยนตร์ 3 ภาค และ OVA อีก 3 ภาคเช่นกัน
แต่ก็มีอย่างหนึ่งที่เรื่อง มืออสูรล่าปีศาจ ยังไม่ได้ทำก็คือหนังเวอร์ชั่นคนจริงแสดง ซึ่งในโอกาสที่ครบรอบ 15 ปีนับตั้งแต่การ์ตูนนี้จบไป ก็เลยนำมาสร้างเป็นหนังคนจริงแสดงซะเลย แต่ว่าไม่ได้ทำเป็นภาพยนตร์จอเงิน ทำเป็นเพียงซีรี่ย์ฉายทางโทรทัศน์เท่านั้น กำหนดฉายตอนแรกในเดือนตุลาคม 2014 ที่ช่อง NTV ของญี่ปุ่น

...นุเอโนะ เมสุเกะ (นูเบ) ได้มาเป็นอาจารย์ประจำชั้นปีที่ 2 ห้อง 3 ในโรงเรียนมัธยมปลายแห่งหนึ่ง แต่ทว่านูเบนั้นกลับถูกมองว่าเป็นอาจารย์เพี้ยน ชอบทำอะไรป้ำๆเป๋อ
และโดนล้อเรื่องมือซ้ายที่ใส่ถุงมือปิดตลอดเวลา โดยไม่รู้ว่า นูเบนั้นเป็นนักล่าอสูรจากนรก ที่มีมือซ้ายคอยขจัดเหล่าวิญญาณร้ายที่ย่างกรายมายัง นักเรียนในชั้นของเขา
