ตามร่างกายของโคลมักมีบาดแผลปรากฏเสมอ ๆ ตามแขนหรือลำตัว แรกเริ่มมัลคอล์มเชื่อว่าคงเกิดจากการทุบตีของแม่ แต่เมื่อโคลได้บอกความจริงให้ฟัง มัลคอล์มก็ยังไม่เชื่อ จนเมื่อเขาได้ประสบเหตุการณ์นี้กับตัวเอง ซึ่งทำให้เขาแทบช็อก และเรื่องราวความลี้ลับก็เกิดขึ้น
