"กำเนิด ณ เวลา เที่ยงคืน สูญเสียเพื่อจะเติบโต และ ใช้ความรัก นำทางชีวิต"

ภาพยนตร์ Midnight s Children ถ่ายทอดถึงปาฏิหาริย์ในช่วงเที่ยงคืนแห่งการประกาศเอ กราชของประเทศอินเดีย จากอังกฤษในวันที่ 15 สิงหาคม 1947 มีทารก 581 คนถือกำเนิดในเวลานั้น แต่มีเพียงทารกเพียงคนเดียวที่เกิดมาพร้อมพลังพิเศษ พลังของการติดต่อทางโทรจิตกับเพื่อนร่วมเวลาเกิดคนอื ่นๆ ได้ไม่ว่าจะอยู่ไกลสักเท่าไร ทารกคนนั้นมีชื่อว่า "ซาลีม ไซนาย" บุตรของหญิงม่ายที่ใช้ชีวิตอยู่ในสลัม ในช่วงเวลาแรกเกิด ซาลีม ถูกสลับตัวกับศิวะ (ซิดดราห์) บุตรนักธุรกิจผู้มั่งคั่งแห่งมุมไบ นับจากนั้น ชีวิตของ "ซาลีม ไซนาย" ก็ผกผันไม่ต่างกับชะตากรรมของอินเดียดินแดนบ้านเกิด มีเพียง มนตราแห่งช่วงเวลาเที่ยงคืน ความรัก และหัวใจที่เข้มแข็งเท่านั้นที่เป็นเครื่องนำทาง พาเขากลับสู่ครอบครัวที่รอคอยเขาอยู่
