ซิน ซิตี้ คือเมืองแห่งฆาตกรรมและการโกงกิน คือเมืองแห่งความรักและการล้างแค้น ซึ่งทุกสิ่งนั้นเป็นเรื่องราวที่ง่ายดายเหมือนกับเรื ่องราวของหัวใจทุกคน มาร์ฟ (มิกกี โรร์ก) หนุ่มวัยกลางคนสุดคลั่ง ที่เส้นทางชีวิตนั้นถูกปะติดปะต่อขึ้นมาจากเศษเดนอัน กักขฬะของเมืองคนบาป แห่ง ซิน ซิตี้ เพียงชั่วข้ามคืนของความสุขอันดื่มด่ำกับ โกลดี้ (เจม คิง) หญิงสาว ผู้ปฏิบัติกับเขาราวกับเทพเจ้าตัวน้อย แบบที่ไม่เคยมีหญิงใดเคยคิดจะทำอย่างนั้นกับเขามาก่อ น เมื่อแสงแรกของวันใหม่มาถึง ร่างอันไร้วิญญาณของหญิงสาวก็แน่นิ่งอยู่ข้างกายเขา พร้อมกับเสียงไซเรนตำรวจที่กำลังดังใกล้เข้ามาเรื่อย ๆ เขารู้แน่ชัดว่าต้องมีใครสักคนที่สร้างสถานการณ์เลวร ้ายครั้งนี้ขึ้นมาเพื่อ ใส่ความเขา แต่ว่านั่นก็ไม่เท่ากับเพลิงแค้นในใจที่พร้อมจะเผาไห ม้ทุกคนที่ทำให้หญิงสาว คนเดียวที่เขารัก และรักเขาต้องจบชีวิตลง ในขณะที่เหล่าตำรวจออกตามล่าเขา มาร์ฟต้องวิ่งฝ่าทางเดินมืดๆ จากหลังตึกหนึ่งไปยังอีกตึกหนึ่ง ผ่านไปยังใจกลางของ ซิน ซิตี้ เมืองคนบาป และเรื่องราวลึกลับซับซ้อน ที่มากไปกว่าโสเภณีคนหนึ่งที่ถูกฆ่าก็เริ่มเผยให้เห็ นถึงเรื่องราวเบื้องลึก เบื้องหลังที่สลับซับซ้อน และร้ายแรงเกินกว่าที่มาร์ฟจะคาดคิด อาจดูเหมือนว่าคือเรื่องราวความโหดเหี้ยม และไร้ศีลธรรม แต่ทุกสิ่งที่เขากำลังทำลงไปนั้น หมายความว่าเขาจะต้องกลับเข้าคุกไปอีกครั้งเช่นกัน ทว่าเขานั้นเชื่ออย่างสุดใจว่านั่นคือสิ่งถูกต้องที่ เขาจะทำให้แก่หญิงสาวคน รักที่จากไปได้ หลังจากการเดินทางออกตามล่าล้างแค้น และต่อสู้กับคำถามถึงศีลธรรมในใจของมาร์ฟ ที่มีต่อการฆ่าอย่างไม่ปรานีแล้ว เรื่องราวที่อีกด้านหนึ่งของเมืองก็กำลังก่อตัวขึ้นอ ย่างดุเดือดที่เต็มไป ด้วยสงครามหมัด เสียงปืนดังกึกก้อง และเสียงระเบิดดังสนั่นหวั่นไหว
