นี่คือการผจญภัยที่น่าตื่นตาตื่นใจ ท่ามกลางดินแดนลึกลับในสมัยโบราณ ที่เต็มไปด้วยสัตว์ประหลาดอันเหลือเชื่อ ซินแบด (จอห์น ฟิลลิป ลอว์) เจ้าชายแห่งกรุงแบกแดดและกะลาสีระดับตำนาน ค้นพบแผนที่ที่น่าสนใจ จึงแล่นเรือไปยังเกาะเลอมูเรียที่เขาไม่เคยรู้จักมาก ่อน พร้อมกับทาสสาวแสนสวยชื่อมาร์เกียน่า (แคโรไลน์ มันโร) และอัครเสนาบดีแห่งดินแดนมาราเบีย แต่ซินแบดต้องเผชิญอุปสรรค เมื่อเจ้าชายคูรา (ทอม เบเกอร์) พ่อมดผู้ชั่วร้าย วางแผนควบคุมวิญญาณที่มุ่งร้ายหมายขวัญ หวังจะทำลายการเดินทางในครั้งนี้ แต่ซินแบดก็ไปถึงเลอมูเรียจนได้ แม้คูราจะร่ายเวทมนตร์ให้รูปแกะสลักยักษ์บนหัวเรือขอ งซินแบดมีชีวิตขึ้นมา เพื่อขัดขวางซินแบด เมื่อไปถึงเลอมูเรีย ซินแบดกับลูกเรือก็ต้องผจญกับรูปปั้นหกมือที่กวัดแกว ่งดาบไปมา เซนทอร์ตาเดียว และนกกริฟฟิน และในท้ายที่สุด ซินแบดก็ปะทะกับคูราแบบตัวต่อตัวในการดวล จนกว่าจะมีใครตายไปข้างนึง
