Haruyuki is an overweight kid and at the bottom of the food chain at his middle school. Within the sci-fi setting of the real world he often seeks refuge in a virtual one. One day however his life changes when he is given an opportunity by the prettiest girl in the school no less, to integrate the two by means of a program called accelerated world (Brain Burst). จนกระทั่งวันหนึ่ง คุโรยูกิฮิเมะ ได้ส่งโปรแกรม Brain Burst โปรแกรมลับสุดยอดที่ส่งต่อกันเท่านั้น โดยเนื้อในโปรแกรมนั้น เป็นการแร่งความเร็ว คล้ายเกมต่อสู้ โลกที่เร็วกว่าเวลาจริง 1,000 เท่าจากเวลาในโลกจริง ดุจดั่งหยุดโลกไว้ในกำมือได้ แต่ความจริงนั้น มันคือเกมที่ต้องใช้คะแนนในการใช้งาน โดยจะต้องต่อสู้กับ Burst Linker คนอื่น ๆ จะต้องสู้กันเพื่อเก็บแต้ม เพื่อเพิ่มความสามารถของตน เพื่อนำคะแนนที่มีไปใช้งานหยุดเวลาโนโลกจริง ซึ่งสามารถโกงเกม ทำให้รับรู้การเคลื่อนไหวล่วงหน้าและอื่น ๆ ได้
