เมื่อเกิด คนเลวในสังคม ก็ต้องมีฝ่าย ต่อต้านคนเลว โดย เมล กิ๊บสัน รับบทเป็น ตำรวจ ที่ต้องคอยปกป้องคนดี ไม่ให้ ถูกคนเลวทำร้าย

แล้ววันหนึ่ง ผู้รักษากฎหมายอย่าง เมล กิ๊บสัน ก็ถูก คนเลวในสังคม ทำร้าย ลูกและเมียของเขาอย่างเหี้ยมโหด โดยทางการ(ตำรวจ)ก็ไม่สามารถจะคุ้มครองครอบครัวของเข าได้

จึงถึงจุดระเบิด ที่ ตำรวจอย่าง เมล กิ๊บสัน ต้องใช้อำนาจส่วนตัว จำกัด คนเลวด้วยตัวเอง เข้าทำนอง "เกลือต้องจิ้มด้วยเกลือ" และ นับแต่ วินาทีนี้ เป็นต้นไป จึงเกิด พฤติกรรม แมดแม็กซ์ ขึ้น

การตามล้างตามฆ่าคนเลว ด้วยวิธีรุนแรงเช่นเดียวกับที่ คนร้ายทำกับคนดี เริ่มขึ้น และ เสน่ห์ของหนังที่ทำให้คนดู ต้องยกนิ้วโป้งให้ทั้งสองนิ้วก็ ตรง ความสะใจ ในการ ปราบคนเลว ด้วยวิธี ตาต่อตาฟันต่อฟันนี่เอง
