เรื่องราวที่เกิดขึ้นในปี 2028 ในยุคที่ OmniCorp เป็นศูนย์กลางเทคโนโลยีรวมทั้งทำ หน้าที่ตำรวจปกป้องประชาชน แต่แล้วก็เกิดเหตุไม่คาดฝันขึ้น อเล็กซ์ เมอร์ฟีย์ ตำรวจผู้รักอาชีพของตัวเอง รวมทั้งเป็นพ่อและสามีที่ดีให้ครอบครัวมาตลอด เกิดอุบัติเหตุครั้งใหญ่ OmniCorp จึงถือโอกาสนี้ดัดแปลงร่างกายของเขาเพื่อช่วยชีวิตตำ รวจหนุ่ม รวมทั้งสร้างมนุษย์ครึ่งเครื่องจักคนแรกขึ้นมาด้วย ทำให้เขาต้องเปลี่ยนตัวเองเป็น Robocop ซึ่งการเปลี่ยนตัวเองเป็นครั้งนี้ทำให้อเล็กซ์ต้องแบ กความรับผิดชอบที่มาก ขึ้นอย่างที่เขาไม่เคยคาดฝันมาก่อนเลยทีเดียว
