จอห์น ครูเกอร์ (Arnold Schwarzenegger) เจ้าหน้าที่หน่วยผู้ตรวจการสหรัฐฉายาอีเรเซอร์ มีหน้าที่พิทักษ์พยานในคดีสำคัญต่างๆให้รอดพ้นจากกลุ ่มคนเบื้องหลัง ด้วยวิธีการของจอห์นคือการเก็บเหล่าพยานไว้ในที่ลับท ี่มีเพียงเขาคนเดียวที่รู้ กระนั้นเพื่อความไม่ประมาทในการรักษาพยานคนสำคัญจึงม ีแผนสร้างเหตุการณ์ขึ้นมากลบเกลื่อนสายตาโดยการแกล้ง สร้างหลักฐานพร้อมกับเหตุการณ์จริงประกอบให้มองว่าพย านตายแล้วจริงเพื่อนำพยานทั้งหลายเหล่านั้นไปล้างประ วัติ เปลี่ยนชื่อนามสกุล งานและที่อยู่ใหม่จนกลายเป็นคนใหม่ จากนั้นค่อยพบกันอีกครั้งในวันขึ้นศาลอย่างปลอดภัย แล้วงานล่าสุดของจอห์นได้มาถึงเมื่อพยานคนสำคัญล่าสุ ดคือลี คัลเลน (Vanessa Williams) เจ้าหน้าที่ในบริษัทไซเรสคอร์เปอร์เรชั่นที่สร้างอาว ุธให้กับกระทรวงกลาโหม
