ว่าด้วยเรื่องราวโลกอันมืดมนก่อนที่ทุกชีวิตจะต้องอพ ยพเป็นหลัก ที่โนอาห์ตัวเอกของเรื่อง คอยเตือนผู้คนให้หยุดรุกราน ธรรมชาติ ก่อนที่โลกจะถึงกาลอวสาน แต่ไม่มีใครเชื่อเขาสักคน ทำให้ครอบครัวของเขาถูกรังเกียจ ต้องอยู่กันตามลำพัง จนกระทั่งโนอาห์ได้พบกับเทพทั้ง 6 ที่เรียกกันว่า the Watcher มาเป็นผู้นำทางเขาไปสู่คำตอบในการแก้ปัญหา ซึ่งดาร์เรน อโรนอฟสกี ชี้แจงว่าเรื่องนี้เป็นการเอาตำนานโนอาห์กลับมาเล่าใ ห้คนรุ่นหลังได้ฟัง ในแบบที่คนรุ่นใหม่สามารถเข้าถึงได้ นอกจากนี้มันยังมีบางส่วนที่สะท้อนสังคมปัจจุบันให้เ ราได้ข้อคิดกันอีกด้วย ซึ่งเขาพยายามจะให้มันเป็นการเชื่อมความคิดของคนที่เ ชื่อในตำนานนี้และคนที่ไม่เชื่อเข้าด้วยกัน
