เป็นเรื่องราวความขัดแย้ง ระหว่างสองนักบินรบหนุ่ม (จอห์น ทราโวลตา และ คริสเตียน สเลเตอร์) ที่สุดท้ายเราคงเดาออกว่า ก็ต้องเป็นการต่อสู้ระหว่างธรรมะและอธรรม เริ่มจากทั้งคู่ได้เริ่มฝึกบินในเช้าตรู่ของวันหนึ่ง แต่หารู้ไม่ว่าหนึ่งในทั้งสองได้แอบซุกซ่อน หัวรบนิวเคลียร์ไปด้วยกับการฝึกครั้งนั้น บทบาทของ จอห์น ทราโวลตร้าจะเป็นคนที่ค่อนข้างหัวรุนแรง เพราะเหตุนี้เอง เขาจึงเป็นตัวชงเรื่องทั้งหมดตั้งแต่ต้น โดย คริสเตียน สเลเตอร์จะเป็นไก่รองบ่อนมาเรื่อยๆในช่วงแรก เหตุการเริ่มไม่ค่อยเวอร์ค เมื่อทราโวลต้า เครื่องบินเริ่มขัดข้อง เขาถูกให้บังคับให้ดีดตัวเองออกมาจากเครื่อง แผนของทราโวลต้า คือต้องการครอบครอง หัวรบนิวเคลียร์ไว้ ภยันตรายที่จะอุบัติขึ้นเป็นเรื่องที่ สเลเตอร์ รับไม่ได้ แผนการขัดขวางต่อมาจึงอุบัติขึ้น ทั้งคู่จึงต้องเข้าห้ำหั่นกันเพื่อได้มาในสิ่งที่ตัว เองต้องการ
