Synopsis:

The once destitute, tortured by colonial rule, wars and planned economy country has blossomed in the last two decades.
The film journey begins in the capital Hanoi. With its lakes, French colonial buildings and the bustling Old Town, the metropolis is one of the most beautiful cities in Asia. The mountains of the north lure with trekking tours to the many hill tribes and the bustling town of Sa Pa. By water, it goes through the Halong Bay with its thousands of limestone islands. In central Vietnam lined up the old imperial city of Hue, the picturesque Hoi An, once one of the main ports of Asia and the ruins of My Son Sanctuary, the spiritual center of the kingdom of the Cham. From Nha Trang, the Nice of the East with its beaches and islands, it goes up to Da Lat, the former summer resort of the French colonialists. The seething Saigon, economic national center and one of the booming megacities of Asia, offers the full range: Colonial splendor and modern skyscrapers, temples and pagodas, colorful markets and chic shopping streets. The Mekong Delta characterize waterways and floating markets. In the Cu Chi Tunnels, the horrors of the Vietnam War come alive.
