The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford ชื่อหนังจะยาวไปไหน เป็นหนังกึ่งชีวประวัติของเจสซี่ เจมส์ (Brad Pitt) วายร้ายอันดับต้น ๆ ที่ทางการต้องการตัวมากที่สุดในช่วงปี 1880 หนังถูกเล่าผ่านเสียงบรรยายจากบุคคลที่สามซึ่งเปรียบ เหมือนคนอ่านหนังสือ แล้วตีความออกมา กับมุมมองของโรเบิร์ต ฟอร์ด (Casey Affleck) เด็กหนุ่มผู้มีเจสซี่เป็นไอดอล เขาอ่านเรื่องราวและศึกษาเกี่ยวกับเจสซี่มาตั้งแต่เด ็กและหาทางเข้าแก๊งกับ เจสซี่ตอนอายุ 19 ปี
