เบื้องหลังเล็กๆน้อยๆของหนังเรื่องนี้มีว่า เดิมที่ผู้สร้างจะให้ Fran&#231 ois Truffaut ยอดผู้กำกับชาวฝรั่งเศสมากำกับการแสดง แต่ Truffaut กลับแนะนำให้ทีมผู้สร้างนำ Robert Benton ผู้เขียนบทมากำกับแทน ฺBenton เคยมีงานเขียนบทให้กับหนังดังๆมาแล้วหลายเรื่องด้วยก ันเช่น Bonnie and Clyde (1967), What s Up, Doc?
